I can kinda see that, but I'm not the biggest fan of water-cooled VW's. My heart lies with the 70's and back. But a loot of the water-cooled stuff is influenced by the aircooled scene.

First thing that came to mind from Cars 2:

It's been a while since I watched that, but he was supposed to be a Karmann? I thought he was a horribly done DB5.....
