I think the connector should be the same.

Yeah Okada are costly but there are other options. T.M. Works specialize in ignition tuning products. I'm using their basic harness:

or you can go further with 16v: http://tmworks-web.jp/products/alpha_eng.htm
and even a few more stages of upgrades.

Their full stage upgrades might be even more costly vs Okada and the debate is still going on which is better.

Interesting idea with a voltage booster. If there is a real benefit to doing this, then with a bit of tinkering, I think you can replicate the effect with a cheaper unit such as this.

It would all be a matter of finding an apropriate size that would deal with the heat that gets generated from the constant operation.

As a bonus, it's adjustable, so you can crank up the voltage even more if you're feeling brave.

I heard it is not recommended to go above 16v as it may damage or melt your plugs
