Unexpected Seat Belt Light Flashing

More a side-step than off-topic I hope:
The real advantage of a same-wheelbase 2-door hatchback over a 4-door hatch is when all seats are deleted except driver's. (I know this from much work and fun w/ a 1989 Toyota Tercel 2-door hatch.)

What happens if I ONLY carefully disconnect (and protect) the Toyota/Hal mystery-claw connectors and delete the passenger seat of a 2007 Yaris 2-door hatch? Does the car still run? Will any beeping eventually stop, as it does when it thinks the groceries next to me are a human? (I don't care about dash lights on...unless maybe they flash continuously.)

(Isn't it sorta backwardsworld that the big SUV's and vans, etc. have the easily removable seats, but not the little cars?)

If you remove the passengers seat from the car you'll get an SRS aka airbag light on the dash since the computer will sense the open circuit from the missing passenger seat connector. The car will drive perfectly fine, with no beeping just with the dash light on.

You will not only get the airbag light on the dash cluster, but you will also get the 'airbag off' light in the area to the right of the AC vent, and the seat belt light will flash (even if you reconnect the seat belt harness).

It appears the airbag and seat belt modules go hand-in-hand in these cars. There are two wiring harnesses under the passenger seat. Disconnecting one or both produces the three lights mentioned above.

If you remove the passenger seat altogether, everything will work except for the passenger side airbag and you will have three flashing lights. Installing a bypass module like the one I'm getting from CTScott will make the lights go away and give you a switch for enabling and disabling the airbag and seat belt sensors.
