BTW, about 2 month ago or so I made a big discovery, and I challenge everybody to try it out, specially if you have a trunk with a subwoofer in a box.

While playing your favorite song seating in the drivers seat, have somebody open the trunk!

Does the Bass goes up or down?

I did (fig.2) this and the Bass increased considerable, it's called "cancellation" (fig.1) I had the subwoofer facing forward behind the rear seat, then I rotated it facing towards the back. (fig.3)

I test it again, and this time the Bass didn't increased but my Bass had a bigger punch! no "Cancellation" anymore.

I had my subwoofer and amplifier working harder to accomplish the Bass, now without "Cancellation" (fig.3) I have a better Bass and my amp/sub is running more efficiently.

I bought EBC pads and rotors off autoanything.com last fall, would definitively recommend EBC products. As for the retailer, many online auto retailers sells them, including Amazon. However get the Greenstuff pads instead of the base ones, because I cheaped out on mines and it's only after I realized that the base ones are rated medium dust and the green is low dust. Unless you enjoy cleaning your mags. Pad performance has been superb tho, same for their rotors.

Other than that, there's Napa or other generic brands. EBC is as good when not better than Toyota pads.

For the Yaris community who don't know sqcomp or me, he has been my Car Audio Mentor through all these years, we both had Yaris with Sound systems, he guided me through all my installs in my Yaris, he helped me put together this long.... thread.

A day I will never forget!

We certainly needed more time to geek out on the Merc system.

I just got my hands on a nice “backup” amp setup just in case my main amplifier section selection doesn’t perform like I want

I know it won't hold up to weight. He was asking about attaching grill cloth to the back side of the a pillar.

[QUOTE=sqcomp;534766]There is truth in that last one...

The real challenge is getting into WHY things sound the way they do...

Head Related Transfer Function, InterModulation Distortion, Interaural Time Difference, and Interaural Intensity Difference are some terms you'll run into when asking why does my soundstage do (or not do) certain things when listening.[/QUOTE

Reading that made my head hurt! lol!

I was wondering if I would ever live long enough to see this project finished.

But now I realize that I will NOT.

SqComp: get out while you still can!

It is THE NEVERENDING STORY! You have been sucked into "the nothing" !

Falcor, Atreyu, save us!

Holler at me about the more powerful amp idea.
I know they are not perfect, for now I'll get everything working and then I'll take my time to make everything beautiful. I'll consider Neffy and vinyl, never ever worked with them, but I'm sure everything that goes on top of a sphere would be hard to do. But I'm open to any suggestions, ideas, or recommendations.

So the L6's can take more than 200 watts

Thanks
D.

I did, but it was twice the work doing a mold for a first timer, it's a learning process, now I feel more comfortable working with fiberglass, I even thought that the first spheres where just for learning they look good in pictures, but in real life look very nice, I still need to do the smaller spheres for the tweeters!

I understand what you mean, that is the way to go, I hope this is not my last install, so next time I'll go that way, for now I kind of like the uneven shape of my spheres they have an organic look where they grab the shape of the a-pillars as well.

The second set of spheres for the tweeters will be a different approach, I'll to a mold first and then glass the inside!

Thank you,

D.

Wow, the L6s don't look that Beefy! very humble speakers, what I mean is that they are not very impressive by just looking at them. I'm looking forward to feel their performance.

According to tracking # tomorrow the amp and the sub should arrive, I'll have to do a photo shoot of all the equipment.
