After celebrating turkey day in New Hampshire and a long weekend with Family and Friends, we are back and here I am trying to install the "threaded inserts" I wish they make smaller ones for my 3" speakers, it has to be precises or it won't work, not a lot of space to play with.

Finally at the end looks good and they work great!

Sqcomp...

what does "glassing with a racketball" means?

Wink

.
Next step...

Open a second hole into to the spheres to let the Mids breath!

The opening would be a little bit bigger than the red mark, and then I'll match it in the A-pillar, and will seal the edges with Butyl Rope to help with vibrations and acoustics.

Holler at me about the more powerful amp idea.
I know they are not perfect, for now I'll get everything working and then I'll take my time to make everything beautiful. I'll consider Neffy and vinyl, never ever worked with them, but I'm sure everything that goes on top of a sphere would be hard to do. But I'm open to any suggestions, ideas, or recommendations.

So the L6's can take more than 200 watts

Thanks
D.

I did, but it was twice the work doing a mold for a first timer, it's a learning process, now I feel more comfortable working with fiberglass, I even thought that the first spheres where just for learning they look good in pictures, but in real life look very nice, I still need to do the smaller spheres for the tweeters!

I understand what you mean, that is the way to go, I hope this is not my last install, so next time I'll go that way, for now I kind of like the uneven shape of my spheres they have an organic look where they grab the shape of the a-pillars as well.

The second set of spheres for the tweeters will be a different approach, I'll to a mold first and then glass the inside!

Thank you,

D.

Wow, the L6s don't look that Beefy! very humble speakers, what I mean is that they are not very impressive by just looking at them. I'm looking forward to feel their performance.

According to tracking # tomorrow the amp and the sub should arrive, I'll have to do a photo shoot of all the equipment.

Left a-pillar is ready for speaker + wires, I'm letting the HL-70s breath through the a-pillar, I added some peaces of CLD-Tiles inside the sphere and behind the a-pillar, I will cover the CLD-Tiles behind the a-pillar with CCFoam, I also got a layer of CCFoam between the sphere and the a-pillar.

Feels very solid, we'll see how it works and if it needs more dampening material...

"Solution" to what?

( Are you saying you have a problem? )

I would have to listen to your system, before I could even begin to suggest anything. And not just "listen", but "study" it.

I would also need to know what your concerns are.

You have way more experience at this stuff than I do, so I doubt I could offer any helpful advice.

HAVING SAID THAT.... I always smile when people throw more power at their systems as a solution to some issue.
( Especially considering you are an "SQ" guy, and not an "SPL" guy. )

I EXPECT it from the SPL crowd.

And to YOU... Derick:

You are way better at taking photos than you are at FINISHING YOUR SYSTEM!

But seriously, it's looking good so far.

I know...

I'm an architect and a photographer, I can draw it or take a picture but I'll have some else to do it!
in this case, it's a passion and hobby and I'm doing the best I can to prove that if I can do it! every body can!

A.M. made my day again!

I watched that episode!

The M3 did a better MPG than the Prius! The M3 followed the Prius that was cranking and going full throttle on the track.

And you'll have that EXTRA power! when ever you need it!

I like it.

I had to peak in one of the boxes... IDQ12's are AWESOME!
The pictures I've seen online don't make justice to such a beautiful beast.
