I've been averaging between 46 and 43 MPG. That's on my usual route of combined freeway (62 mph or so) and secondary roads (48 mph in 5th. gear on cruise), and around town. One trick I use a lot, when parked at a curb rather then restart and sit there idling waiting for a break in traffic, I look first then only restart when it's clear. I coast A LOT. Been using the air a lot also so I'm happy with what I'm getting. I just need a four door....

I just bought my '08 Yaris, MT, liftback

I drive 450-500 miles a week and 90% is flat highway with cruise control on.

last fill ups to first:

35.84mpg - 10.3 gal 2-20-12
35.61mpg - 10.5 gal 2-15-12
36.52mpg - 9.99 gal 2-10-12
37.71mpg - 6.71 gal 2-6-12

I do have a question when filling. Do you just stop when the handle clicks or keep putting gas in it to round it up to make an even dollar amount?

i usually round up, since the gas is expensive, it wont overflow because you wont be getting much from the rounding up to the dollar portion of gas. Unless you go for another dollar or two, then you might overflow.

Always at the 1st click of the nozzle . Good gas mileage you're getting . Will get better with warmer weather and summer blend of gas . Probably a rise of 3 m.p.g.. Enjoy .

Well I have done my first tank of gas in my newly acquired Yaris. I managed to get 6.75465 L/100 km which works out to 41.82 MPG (imperial gallon). I am happy about it .. though for some reason the last 2 bars on the display went away very fast. I guess that maybe the top bars go away slower than the bottom bars. It took 36.475 litres to fill the tank from shortly after the display started to blink.

I am wondering .. does anyone know the size of the gas tank in a 2007 Yaris RS 3 Dr LB ?

........and if you do what some call 'overfill' (fill all the way up to where the gas cap fits on) it is 12.777 US gallons. I know this from personal experience by running out of gas as I was pulling into a gas station to get gas.....and I regularly come within .20 to .25 of a gallon from that mark.

I just filled up .. and my mileage is pretty consistent with the last tank. I got 557 km and 33.482 L (6.01113 L/100 KM) so I still had some to go before my tank was empty. It was all city driving except about 80 km.

My gas gauge wasn't blinking yet .. but I thought I would stop for gas anyways. My goal is to get 5.5 L/100 KM City - 5.2 L/100 KM Highway so we shall see if I ever manage that.

Seems I can manage that for short periods in the city .. but not over the long term (like for a tank full).

So .. it works out to 46.9930 MPG Imperial or 39.1298 MPG US. So really that isn't too bad. I just got new tires .. so I think that they are a little "stickier" than my old worn out tires so I was expecting my gas mileage to go down. It actually went down about 0.5 MPG from my last fill so really pretty much the same. I will see how my next fill does .. as I got my new tires partway thru this last tank.

Just wanted to post my Yaris lifetime mileage stats ... (I am only on my fourth tank but I seem to be getting reasonably consistent numbers).

L/100 KM .... MPG Imperial .... MPG US
6.233680 ... 45.468933.......37.860767

Probably 90% of my travels are in the city .. with 10 % Highway mileage.

I have been having a hard time getting better mileage as construction season seems to have taken a hold recently. Maybe someday it will end ..

I have a 2007 3 Dr LB 5 Spd Yaris. Are my numbers above reasonable ?

Arrow try hypermiling.... Nows the perfect time to start...

Hi......I can get 45 miles per gallon with 85% city and 15% hwy driving with the hypermiling ideas. You know...coast thur the work zone and up to stoplights ahead. no quick starts keep revs under 2000. check the Tach next to the speedometer( hope you have one). I tried It for the first time with my auto 2010 sedan and works great. you can read my tips to drive like a prius blog by clicking my name on this or other blogs. Some good info and fun stuff about yaris.you might have a feature called dfco yes its spelled right. read about it on google search and check you tube about hypermiling tips ( prius driving tips work too ). Learn about ......learn not to burn http://www.yarisworld.com/forums/ima...burnrubber.gif ( gas that is...)enjoy the blogs here at yarisworld. They really know what their talking about in here....Enjoy experimenting with the hypermiling stuff..it really works great...GET THOSE MPGS.....YEAH...

I just got a new best tankful today. Can I say cool ...

I got 696 KM for 5.40 L/100 KM .. this is my best tank ever so I am happy.

This is 52.28 Imperial MPG / 43.53 US MPG.

I am trying to break 700 km .. so I am getting close. I could have done it today, but I didn't want to risk running out of gas or something crazy like that. I filled up shortly after my last bar started blinking (I am not one to push it and see how far I can go). I did stop for lunch first ..

This makes a lifetime average of 5.88 L/100 KM or 48.25 Imperial MPG or 40.18 US MPG. So .. I am getting better. My first tankful at 34.82 US MPG is really killing my lifetime average.

This is with my tires at 32 PSI ..

Probably about 85% city driving and 15% highway driving.

Just did a partial fill up. Went 303 km and 22.619 litres. So that works out to 7.5 L/100 KM or 31.36 US MPG. It is about 9 MPG less than my average, but it was all winter driving and all in the city. Really I am not that surprised that it is way down.

Hope to get winter over with ... and get back to the great gas mileage in the summer.

Wow

I just managed 4.5 l/100 km (52 mpg) on a 16km (9 miles) mile trip in the country, I wanted to see how good a result I could get and I am mighty impressed. A steady 55 kph (35 mph) at 19TPS.

2006 2 dr LB 5-speed

Now that I am being forced to use ethanol gas, and it's winter, my last two tanks have dropped to 39.6 and 39.8 mpg. That also includes a few times of idling 5 minutes or so, something I never do when warmer.
