Update: 8:21AM Friday 2nd October 2009
BANG BANG BANG at the front door. I get out of bed and to myself "What the f was that"? Go to front door to find a package. Drumroll....................................... Yup it's the cluster. I picked up the box and it had a rattle noise to it , I thought to myself this aint gonna be good . Took it inside and took some photo's and opened it up. This is what I saw.Package ![]() I then open the package. When I open the package I am shocked to find that the douchebag eBay seller has not put any padding in the package at all. No bubblewrap, nothing. It's just the cluster. :( ![]() I take the cluster out and here it is. ![]() ![]() It needs a clean, has fingerprints all over it. Other than that to the naked eye it looks like if I was to pull my dash apart and put it in it would work. In the bottom of the box is what to appears to be a broken clip. Nothing serious. As i'm working today, tomorrow and the next day I will get around to pricing shipping it onto Lewis on my day off on Monday. Sidenote: Lewis, I would give the Ebay seller a message at least or bad feedback at a maximum on his shipping. No padding what so ever and it appears a clip has been broken because of it. The postage cost to the eBay seller was $13.60 and i'm pretty sure you payed more $30 and the tightwad could not spend another couple of bucks on padding? Feel free to pm me or just post in this thread any response, or questions. Cheers --- *MAD DOG*

Just from looking at that cluster, I feel it wont fit on the Yaris USDM models, due to we dont have that larger black box in the front? Who knows if it will even fit in our dash?

I am to assume the black box has something to do withall the extra lcd playtoys in there... If u look at your usdm one though, even thecable hookups appear to be different...as said, guess we will find out soon enough

I still think it will work. The connectors (D1 and D2) are identical in shape and pin layout to the USDM one (they just look different because they are molded black instead of white).
I noticed the lower chunk in the original Ebay pics, but I think that is fine as well. There is space between the bottom of the cluster and the top of the A/C duct below it. |

Even if it doesn't fit perfectly, it would still be worth a bit of modification to get this bad boy to fit into the car. Thanks for the update mad dog!

Oh man this is awesome. I would be down for one if the price is reasonable. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VQJT8...eature=related
What cluster is this? It would be awesome if we could change the text to a white color.

here I am on break from the wedding weekend
hoping CTScott is right and thinking maybe that 50-50 are my chances i do so appreciate everyone's good wishes and help but i guess we all will not know until i get it and plug it in the color is of no importance to me - i just hope it physically fits and functions properly as i can't see myself cutting up the dash to make this work out and remember CTScott is doing everyone here a big favor because- while i'll have a unique and spiffy cluster if it works out- i'll still have to go begging to my dealership to get the odometer reset - while with CTScott's solution of replacing our clock with the tach - while maybe not as spiffy - the odometer will be fine as is so when you add up the cost of the cluster and postage in Australia, then the postage to the USA (a hefty amount i'm sure) and then the stealership cut to reflash the odometer- this will definately be the high cost solution. Might even end up rivaling the cost of a new Toyota parts "S" cluster before I'm done. The catnip here is having something unique and very spiffy. Lewis |
