Wobble/pulse/vibration at speed while driving.
I've got a vibration at 60mph and above that feels like I've got a bent rim or something. My steering wheel doesn't vibrate, but on occasion my pedal does.
How do I determine what the cause is for free or little money? I'm hoping it's a bent rim, because I really want to get better rims.

Most likely you need some wheel balancing done.
A bent rim will manifest itself at speeds lower than 60. An unbalanced wheel often needs the higher speeds to be really noticeable. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The dude at tirediscounters says my tires are very unevenly worn, and I noticed at least two of my tires are at the wear indicators. Maybe that has something to do with it?

Could very well be it, I'd purchase an alignment so the uneven wear won't happen again (unless it's due to improper inflation), and then install new tires. Should fix things for you, as well as let you know if any of your wheels happen to be bent.

I'm concerned it's coming from my engine. I notice it only when accelerating or when engine is using the most torque. Could I have bent valves?

Getting new tires is like $500-$600 around here. That's a lot of money for us. Would getting new rims that are wider and new wider tires maybe also help with highway stability?

Where is 'around here'? If you live in the continental states you should be able to get quality tires for around $70 each. Discounttiredirect .com is an excellent source for tires. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

You can get a decent tire for $70 a pop, but for a little more you can get a significantly better tire. I think $500-$600 is a good estimate if you're looking at top shelf tires and considering tax, installation and maintenance/warranty packages.

I know that, but OP does not sound like a top shelf kind of guy. More the type that just needs to keep it rolling.

I would also suggest checking the condition of your brakes and maybe run-out. Just to make sure you don't have any wheel bearing issues.

Swap tires front to back and see if the nature of the vibration changes (seems to be coming from somewhere else, gets better/worse, etc)- if it does that indicates unbalanced wheels/tires are the likely culprit.

Thanks. And yeah, I'm just looking for some inexpensive fixes. I went ahead and ordered tires from CostCo, we'll see if that fixes it. I appreciate everyone's feedback!

Sounds like some tire cowboy hit your fronts with an air gun, over-torqued the lugs and distorted your rotors. Common problem with today's light-weight brake rotors.
