You can get a decent tire for $70 a pop, but for a little more you can get a significantly better tire. I think $500-$600 is a good estimate if you're looking at top shelf tires and considering tax, installation and maintenance/warranty packages.

I know that, but OP does not sound like a top shelf kind of guy. More the type that just needs to keep it rolling.
