New head unit and current iPod hookup?

I bought my Yaris with the stock AUX port option (located in the middle between the two front seats). I was looking into getting this

http://www.scosche.com/scosche_carau...ItemID=TA2077B

And adding a new deck to it. What will I do with the iPod option I already have, will it roll over to whatever deck I choose?

Sorry big newbie here...

Welcome newber:

As I understand it, no. The AUX jack is the third factory harness plug on the back of the stock head unit which goes unused on most (if not all) aftermarket head units. You lose the factory AUX functionality but gain whatever connector your new head unit offers.

After installing your new HU that third AUX plug just hangs useless kinda like Black Yaris is here.

Awesome, thanks for the infro. That sucks lol, I wish I had known I was going to want to swap decks before I invested in it. I don't really know if the AUX port was any extra though, I think most of the new model Toyotas come with them stock.

Thanks again for all the help guys!

You should get an Alpine head-unit and get the full speed iPod cable. I have the 9456 I believe, in my civic and its a great setup.....plus you can get this setup for about $200(get it from crutchfield and get a free wiring harness and dash sleeve for the head-unit

I didn't realize someone had already suggested an Alpine head-unit. That is a sweet deck by the way! If you're looking for something a bit cheaper you can get a cde-9881
