The way I see it...

If you see some kind of accessory and it makes you giggle like a schoolgirl and think "this thing is cool", like flashing LED window washer spray nozzles might, it most likely is not going to be cool.

On the other hand if you see soem kind of accessory and the first thing you think about is how it could be useful, or how it could complement the theme of your ride, then it sounds more like a worthwhile purchase.

Heck look at my car, I'd be the first to say it fits in many of the descriptions of "rice". I mean, completely stock engine (except for intake/exhaust) with oil catch can, huge rims, huge brakes, loads of monitoring gauges, it is really more show than go, right? Yet, all those come together quite well and I'm more than pleased with the results.

As was said before, it's all subjective anyway. One man's rice is another man's gourmet meal...

Gotta love rice... then there's over the top silly ricing. I have a set of those fake stick-on hood pins... on the roof. Also have chrome mirror covers and whitewalls. There's a family of Lego people on my dash and a rubic's cube hanging from my rear towhook, not to mention teh 30m/100ft on vinyl pinstriping... Oh yeah, the engine and drivetrain is untouched and the only 'mod' are TRD springs...

BUT I DO take it to the track and school people that are too scared to push their cars to the limit...

:D

if your only engine mod is a bunch of stickers, then your car is rice. if you have stickers of stuff you dont even have, then your car is rice. if your car has a spoiler/bookshelf big enough to hold a set of encylopedias, yet has no other performance mods, then its rice. if your car is as loud as a nasa launch, but goes 0-60 in 11 seconds, then your car is rice...

I think it depend of each point of view....

As for me, I hate wings, love some kind of body kit but don't think it's essential. I fucking hate spinner from Canadian Tire lol and any other kind of stuff (useless) from that store.

For some other, it will be CAI or exhaust or whatever else. I think there is no rice, only people who don't know what is to modified a car.

Rice is in the eye of the beholder.

Inspiration or ridicule? http://www.ricecop.com/

Enjoy your ride.

To me, ricers are haters. And ghettoly modified stuff. Its one thing ot have a very expensive show car, (even though I'm not into show) and its another thing to put on some altezzas, stickers, and a fart can. With a very obvious, non-functional wing.

Someone posted a picture of a 350z with the JGTC wing on it. Fully functional, but I guess considered as rice to some.

I am a fan of shrimp fried rice. I was mailed a tin of cookies from the dealership I got my car from (damn tasty in their own right), and piping hot shrimp fried rice would have been better, damnit!
