5K with dino, 7.5K and up with most synths. another thing people always forget to maintain is tire pressure. if you want good mpg and to avoid a blowout on the highway, check them bad boys every week...

I would never do 5k with dino. Unless maybe its a very high quality dino oil. Most poeple reccomend 3k because after that you start to really get sludge buildup. Especially if you get your oil changed at any quick oil change place. They all use bulk oil which is the lowest grade recycled oil.

Oh yeah btw I use either 5w-20 amsoil and when its not available i use royal purple

An entire fleet of Toyota engineers, quality testers, risk analysts and lawyers wholeheartedly disagree with you as their recommendation is 5k miles. Anything more often is a waste of money and resources.

Back on topic: I run Mobil1 5W-20 EP synthetic and a K&N Gold oil filter for the 15k mile drain interval.

Pennzoil Platinum 5W-20. I bought a couple of cases of it for my Mazda3 and have been using it in the wife's Yaris ever since I saw the 5W-20 TSB.

All the UOAs seem to say that's it's a pretty good oil. I'm not going to lie to anybody and say that it's the best oil out there, though. It is pretty cheap, especially with BOGO deals popping up fairly often.

For me it seems to strike a nice balance between performance and price, but I wouldn't say a word against anyone running Torco, Amsoil, or any other premium oil. Once you get past the absolute bottom-of-the-barrel brands they're all decent oil, it all comes down to preference and how much value you put on that extra little piece of mind.

I like to run mobil1. Currently running valvoline full synthetic (came free with the car). Any Full synthetic oil is good IMO.

in the T.S.B. by TOYOTA says 5w-20 only , not 0w-20 . Here's the T.S.B. number , TS-EG018-06 ( the last 2 digits are the year T.S.B. was / is released ) . Got the TOYOTA service department where the '08 YARIS sedan was purchased to e-mail the T.S.B. as confirmation and saved the T.S.B. ( copied from P.C. ) in case of warranty issues with the use of the 5w-20 , says 5w-30 on oil cap and in owners manual . Best to be safe than sorry .
