Yes it is , stock with custom pipe work , no need for axle or cat backs here
as we have a 90 decibal limit on Exchaust noise .

Go custom, this way you can go cat back rather then just axle back(rear section) and get it done localy without crazy shipping charges. As far as the muffler those will work and you can also try a dynomax turbo muffler or similar, which will keep the sound deep and very pleasant.

It's not necessarily true that an axle-back won't increase horsepower. It depends on how restrictive it is and/or the baffling design. It is mainly for sound, however, due to the design of the Yaris exhaust system, that's the only thing you can change other than getting a whole midpipe. A catback system goes from the catalytic converter all the way to the tip, and will result in a higher hp gain.
Hope that helps.

you can always cut your midpipe after the resonator (which is 2" thru) and replace the res-back piece which is 1.75" with a bigger pipe. just weld it on....i had to do that w/ my XRS and my magnaflow catback i bought for it....either clamp or weld...

from what i read, you gain tq across the powerband (thus increasing hp past 5800 or so fairly significantly) with just an axleback due to the stock mufflers extremely restrictive design...

Hawaii does NOT recquire smog inspections! we are allowed to not have any cats. whoohooo!

Well I was getting around 38-40 mpg before the S/C, but now I am getting around 29-31 mpg. It IS a sacrafice, but I believe the trade off is worth it.
Removal of all of your cats is definitely not legal in hawaii. Yes, we have no smog inspect., but they can check to see if you are running catless.

i have to agree with peterpoop... im running 2.25" pipes on my Nissan Titan (5.6L 321hp with 353 ft lbs/tq running 13.88 in 1/4 mile)... Originally the pipes are only 1.98". If i go up to 2.5" than ill be losing enough low end torque that i cannot get a good 60' time. BUt, the high end will be better since the flow will be faster... But for low to mid range, i think 2.25" is a little high...

test them at a Drag Race Track. Doesn't matter the driver, well kinda does. But take 2 yaris'. Same Mods, except the only difference is that one is 2" piping and the other is 2.25" pipes. You will see that the 2" will have a better 60' and all the way up to the 1/8 mile... BUt after that the 2.25" will take over because there is more air flow...

But, this isn't really the thread to discuss this. I just had to put this out there since there is also confusion with my truck with other people thinking bigger is better, which is not... :D

Oh, how come i see more pics than videos of the exhausts? I want more videos and more burnouts. LOL

please prove this blanket statement with dyno graphs of a stock exhaust yaris vs a 2.25" exhaust, done on the same day, same air temperature, same humidity, same yaris.
