lol I've actually found that you can negotiate AT THE PARTS COUNTER I never pay the full price for anything , from fluids to nuts and bolts and brackets....I usually chatter with the person a little bit and ask if I can maybe get like 10-20% off because we all know markup at dealers is crazy just ask member ROCKLAND TOYOTA

depends on your region, in canada, EVERY yaris has an immobilizer regardless of options and trim level.

Yeah, I paid it; grudgingly so! It is a plain, flat key that shouldn't cost more than 2-3 bucks cut; but I hate the thought of not having a spare key in my wallet as I have manual locks and I get into the habit of flipping them close everytime I get out of the car. Sometimes I have to double-check to make sure I didn't just lock my keys inside of it!

As it being the price of convenience, that is pure and unadulterated bullshit! There is nothing that justifies the 4x increase in price. It is why I hate to go to dealerships unless they are doing the work on their nickel. For my money, I go to my trusted mechanic!

ehh don't want to argue but mine doesn't have an immobilizer and it's a 07 plain basic with power door lock on it...and no chip in the key and I live in NB
