Take a look at my damage from being locked out

I've locked my keys in so many times I always have a spare hidden in the magnetic box under the car somewhere. Years ago I bought a brand new Ford F150 and started it to warm it up like you did and locked the door by accident. I was lucky enough to be at my parents house, borrowed their car, drove across town to the dealership to have a key made to get inside, since then I've always had a spare. I'm sorry to see all your damage though. It's always easy to look back and say I should have done something else, like I said your not the first and you won't be the last.

I'm sorry about the misunderstanding, you can buy a little black plastic box at just about any place that makes copies of keys like Walmart, Lowes, they're by the keys. You put your spare key in it and find a place somewhere under your car to hide it, it has magnets on one side to stick to the metal. Just try not to let anyone see where you hide it.

Go to toyota and ask the parts guy if he has a credit card plastic key and cut it for your wallet or even more reliable and a common practice is to use a nylon zip tie and secure a key out of site under the car. People even use duct tape and attach a key to the back of a license plate.

So the nest time you are on your way to that Jeopardy try out you will be ready!!

but yah that does work...get that magnet key box thingy and stick it under your car...it was a great idea when a drunken monkey friend of mine locked the keys in...

I have used the behind the license plate before. Duct tape it on the back side of a wheel cover might work also. It was hard to find the perfect hiding place on the Yaris. There is a lot of plastic. I once hid a key so well on a 88 Toyota truck that it took me 1/2 hour to find when I sold the truck 16 years later.

I helped a girl once with the brick method. Her dog locked the door with it's paw on a 95 degree day.
