who removed their VVTI engine cover?

The cover seems to be for noise suppression (and hiding the wiring mess) more than anything else. My engine seemed louder after I took it off; but after a few days I got used to it and didn't even notice it anymore.

when I removed the plastic engine cover on the 2000 Chevy PRIZM ( Corolla ) to replace the P.C.V. valve , I decided to leave the cover off to see if would help it run cooler during the summer and the valve noise got louder . Put the cover back on and got quieter . Did this several times to double check and remained loud without it , especially when on the interstate ( high speeds ) . The other 1/2 noticed it as well and told me to put it back on , which I did . If you do remove it , pull out the plastic push ins of the engine cover out when the engine is cold , otherwise they'll break off in the pre-drilled hole of the valve cover . Learned this myself , had to use a sewing needle to pry it out and buy another push in at dealer . Luckily not too expensive and had them in stock . I think it's usually a special order item .

never mind then, i alraedy think the yaris is loud already......i can now imagine if i removed it
