you can build your own grounding kit for free half the time, if you make friends with the people at local stereo shops, they will let you hunt through their cable scraps, and you can get assorted lenths of high quality grounding cable. i personally ran a couple extra chassis grounds, and ground by the ECU, a ground by the engine, starter, and alternator.

i also ran a ground wire from the negative terminal on the battery all the way to the trunk where my amps are located.

and seriously, dont get a yellow top. its a deep cycle battery. its what i have been saying all along. get a red top if you are going optima. you will just fry that yellow top in a daily driver car with a sound system.

Mine cost me, even with the nice compression fittings, right around $13.

Spades, talk to us about the long ground going back to the amps.

i got tired of dealing with chassis grounds eventually working loose or getting corroded when the grease wore off in the past, so i decided to run a full cable to the back.

for only 1600watts or so of audio gear, a dedicated ground wire isnt really needed, a chassis ground would normally work...but I like overkill.

p.s. grounds to the alternator and starter help them last longer, where I work the most common failure on them happens when they start to get a bad ground...running your grounding kit to them can help them last longer :)

I put up a new topic about electrical system upgrades. It should really answer any questions we may have once and for all.
