Visit Bangkok. It's cheap right now. This is the website I used to visit Europe three times. Can't beat the prices.

Just $839 to go to Ireland for 6 nights. Airfare included from N.Y.

Lisa... hint hint

How's that? You must only stay in the 5-star hotels.

All three trips I made cost me around $2300 for TWO people to fly from L.A. to Europe, 6 nights at a 4-star hotel.

The only catch for that price is that you have to travel from November to March.

599,000 baht before financing, and at the time the Baht was very close to 30 to the dollar, so yes, I have (well, had...) a $20,000 base Yaris

Dammit guys you have no idea how badly I'd love to be there

But yeah got a lot of work to do... I can't just go off gallivanting with friends, for a trip like this to be worthwhile I'd have to go at least a week... Heck, I have to go on a business trip for training at a manufacturer in Italy soon and it's being a real PITA to figure out...

Visa would not be a problem, though I have a fancy new biometric passport so I can literally just waltz into the US

but I promise, as soon as I practically have the ability to, I'll be flying over

idk, it was $999 for a week stay in the cheapest hotel and nearly a $600 fee to fly out of any airport in the midwest...the charge for someone to fly out of LA was $0

I hope you do fly over Thomas, we will have to plan that meet way in advance to make sure as many people as possible can be there.

All this airfare talk.. hmm..

I'm trying to resist the temptation of buying the $700 roundtrip tickets to the Philippines that I just saw.. I'm pretty sure all I need to worry about is airfare since so many of my mom's friends are willing to "adopt" me and possibly even give me a job if I stay there for summer

Ok, you're right. The best I came up with was $3348 but for TWO people.

But just think of it. You and I can buy all the counterfeit software we can carry. Eat spicy thai food all day. That reminds me that we need to make sure the hotel room has two bathrooms cause we'll be spending half of the time in there.

Then we would bother Thomas half the time. Borrow his car and scare each other to death trying to drive on the left side of the road.

An engineering geek trip to the IT mall.

So what do you say, Matt?

So, I went out last night to see this really good '80's cover band called Weird Science. They have great band members, musically they ROCK. Anyway, they cover all these '80's songs from like The Cure, Psychedelic Furs, Duran Duran, The Fixx, INXS all WITHOUT having a keyboard or sound effects machines.

So they go to play I Ran by A Flock of Seagulls and begin by joking around that they "forgot" the keyboards...and need volunteers to come up and make sound effect noises. They pick a guy to make some goofy "wah-wah" sound and then they say they need someone to make an "ocean-type" sound. Sort of a "shhhhhh"...and who to they pick to do this? Me. I was just sitting there minding my own business and thanks to MySpace, they know my name and call me up.

I'm on stage, the microphone in front of me and I make my "noise"....cameras are out all over the place...had a good time. But I get back to my table and one of my friends goes..."Great job blowing the microphone." OMG...the pictures...

Then, on my myspace page this morning there's a short message from the band:

"Best.
Sound effects.
EVER."

Nah... here my plan: Land in LA, rent a Yaris and drive to Florida, dropping by all YW members on the way, Mexico too... Then up to NY, then Montreal, and all the way back across Canada, Seattle and LA again... now THAT would be a worthwhile trip... But I'll need to retire first

Wow, you may want to rent an RV instead of a Yaris to do that haul! Haha, but I bet you could drive across the country and each active YW member would allow you a stay in his/her home :). That would be quite the trip! Rain and I drove through four states and it took about 10 hours to go 600 miles, you can do it Thomas
