You don't have an LSD in your Yaris unless you paid the bucks and put one in it yourself.
But, with helical LSD's (which are available for the Yaris), the old-school "jack up the car" tests don't always work as people think they should. Had this problem on Miatas. The Torsen behaves like an open diff when the car is on a lift. Here's a sure-fire way to tell if you have an open diff: Put one wheel on dry asphalt and the other one in the dirt. Dump the clutch and see what happens. If you sit there and dig a hole on the dirt side, you have an open diff. If you have LSD, you'll move ahead smartly as torque is transferred to the wheel that is not slipping. |
