I thought the manufacturer warranty was 3 years or 36,000 miles? I opted for the 6 year or 100,000 mile warranty with a $50 deductible. I've had bad experiences with cars in the past, average at least $2k+ repairs on almost every one I've had. Hopefully Toyota will make my warranty unnecessary. lol

The odds are that the extended warranty is a waste of money. Especially with Toyotas. However, if you have money to burn and/or want the add'l security, then get an extended warranty (but make sure it is with a dealer's plan and not a 3rd party warranty).

i'm glad i don't drive more than 6 miles to work!...my car is an '07 and i only have a little over 22,700 on it
i too, purchased an extended warranty just in case...safe than sorry type thinking, especially considering my power windows are not factory but were installed by the dealers certified location...i'd hate to have something go wrong with them after the 36k mark and then have the cost fall on me... |

haha i'll burn through my 36k well before the 3 years... but the stealership i got my little Yaris from was offering a lifetime powertrain warranty for as long as i own the car... i was pretty happy with that :-)

I'd rather pay an extra $5 a month then to have to pay to get something fixed right after 36000. I do about 30,000 a year so it takes me no time to reach that.

+1, but only if you drive normally
I don't half the time, so I need the extended warranty
