To each his own. I would NEVER, EVER, EVER go 6,000 miles in between changes, much less 10,000. Oil changes are cheap insurance and I think more of my automobiles than that. Used oil is recycled and the part of Texas I live in, people change oil every 3,000 miles anyway. I grew up around very heavy duty farm equipment and am a firm believer in preventive maintenance. There is a reason for the old cliche' "pay me now or pay me later". I take care of my vehicles and they last until I am ready to trade, not when they break down. Just wanted to mention it here, it isn't going to work for everyone.
