I personally totalled a car once and the airbag busted my nose and gave me a couple of light chemical burns. however, had it not been there, i would have smashed my skull on the steering wheel and most likely died on impact. instead, i got a bloody nose and a couple of burns that healed in 2 days.
i collapsed the back on of a car when i got clipped on the side at a stop light and the guy was doing 60mph

didnt have an air bag, no face damage, no harm done

he hit so hard he snapped the racing seat and popped the front hood up

sorry but i beg to differ on your theory

i waked away with no scratches and my face came no where near the wheel.

ive seen air bags blow in super low collisions where it did more damage then if it wasn't there

Guess all the crash reports, federal regs are BS? In 2001, in a horrific accident, my airbag deployed. Broke my nose and I too had powder burn. HOWEVER, I am a big airbag supporter! I have seen many, many, many accidents in the last 6 years. I could not recommend to ANYONE to disable or remove their airbag systems.........However, it is your choice, and it is at your own peril. Just be respectful/responsible enough to not tamper with the passenger side!

Nope, you haven't. You can't argue with science man. You can't say it would have done less damage because you don't know. This is the same kind of thick headed logic that makes a lot of rednecks I've seen claim that they are safer without seat belts. Airbags have scientific data on their side, you have (if one is to assume you are correct that the damage would have been less in those cases) a couple of anecdotes. Science wins.
