Depends on what your split in "dual purpose" is. The DZ101 is closer to an all season tire, though it is a very good one. My wife has those on her MINI Cooper. If you expect to drive in a great deal of rain, or ANY snow, they would be the better bet.
The Star Spec is by far the better performance tire. It's not bad in the rain, but I expect at about half-tread the DZ101 would be better. And the Star Spec should not even remotely be considered for "winter" use anywhere that actually has winter. 195/55-15's may rub slightly depending on wheel offset and alignment. Just barely, though. With 41 offset 15x7's, I didn't get any rubbing. With 38 offset 15x7's, I got a little. Not enough to worry about, though. Just the fender liner. |
