Oh yeah, for sure! I'd rather have Diesel quirks than hybrid quirks. Toyota doesn't want a vehicle with "conventional" technology rivaling their hybrid for economy in this market.

I snapped these Yarii in France a couple of months ago. It looks to me like the body style is slightly different (notice the window in the back is like cut?) and of course, they have a bit bigger engine.

hmmm I'm looking at the back window of mine and those pics and I can't tell any difference... If you mean the back door windows, I think the windows on the 5 door Yari are the same. The bottom one is the previous generation, isn't it?

I have seen tons of second generation Yarii in Europe and, other than the engines available, physically they are no different than the ones we get here. Well, there are some differences (taillights, etc), but the bodies are the same... |

Do the European ones also rock the hole in the front bumper for the towhook?
Basically the cars sold in the US that have the spot for a front towhook in the bumper are built outside of the US. Notice how the Camry doesn't have one sold here in the states? That's because the ones sole here are built in the US. The JDM Camry has it.

as I stated in a previous thread, open your hood (if you have a sedan) and look at the back left corner of the underside. you should see a sticker that says "Kanto auto works" on it. |

Yes, that's correct. Here are the cars they build in their two factories:

Mine was made in Japan. So much so, in fact, that I found various Japanese checklists and papers in my glovebox when I first picked up my car from the dealer. I guess they forgot to toss those out. ;)

I don't know. I have the 2007 which is a slightly different look. I've never seen in person a Yaris with the split back window :iono.
