thats nice and all but my point is that it would have been nice to have a tach from the factory. thats all i meant by it, i dont HAVE to have a tach to drive the car.

There is no need for that 5th seat belt, there is no way 5 people will fit. A better driver seat and steering wheel would help also.
speak for yourself, i've had 5 people in my yaris many times,
not only that, but my daughter prefers to ride in the middle of the back rather than on either side.

is it true that all yarii dont have plastic covers on the inside of the wheel wells?? kinda sucks since that provides protection as well as increased road noise insulation. if so, this still won't prevent us from waiting for our yaris. the wait is absolutely KILLING us btw...

there are gravel guard coating under the paint in the wheel well. that already provides protections against anything rocking up the inside well :)

Mine has no undercoat on the actual metal area of the wheelwell. Will try to do that at some point.
Dont really have any other beefs except the touchy clutch.

Driver's seat could use more adjustability. Need to be able to adjust the angle of the seat itself.

Back seats need to fold FLAT. (I also have issues with the back row seats in my '06 Sienna. I think Toyota should hire the Honda seat design engineer!!!).

Reduce the size of the Tach compared with the Speedometer. That would make room for an engine temp gauge.

Better seal for the bottom of the doors.

Reduce the size of the antenna - a shark fin would be nice.
Thats what the aftermarket is for :)

I'll save some $ on the purchase price, and get better (or at least more specific to my driving style) equipment cheaper than if it were an option.

Toyota will be listening to suggestions, and they will implement some, and make you want to but the new model just to get the improvements. Marketing gimmik all the way.
I love my Yaris but I wish I had a 5-door with Side Airbags, and 4 wheel disc brakes! A more adjustable driver seat would be nice as well. Stability control, and traction control too! Proximity 'START" button would be nice.

Odd gripe...

Anyone else notice the sun visors are THICK?

I mean, forget sunglass clips, garage door openers, bluetooth speakerphones, whatever... It's minor

Also, the lack of a 600HP V8 is KILLING me. I mean, come on, I spent $12650.00... I expect certain luxuries

I am still having trouble getting comfy when driving on the highway because of the lack of wheel telescoping and the gas pedal is so easily depressed. Anyway to adjust the gas pedal to require more force or any other ideas for a mod? I find my shin is sore when commuting on the highway!

I have an 07 sedan...agreed that it would be nice to have a more adjustable driver's seat & steering wheel for long drives (which is pretty much all I do in this car).

Having to shell out $80 to get a "standard" radio bezel to replace the integrated radio dreck was kind of annoying. I guess I should be glad I at least was able to do that instead of having to wait for a third-party company to come up with a solution. Car companies should stick to designing cars rather than spending R&D on making their radios slick & hard to remove.

The rearview mirror is way too low on the windshield, and it's always blocking my view of merging traffic & pedestrians in crosswalks. As soon as I can figure out how to reposition it, I'm moving it higher up on the windshield.

Other than that, what's not to like about a Toyota for $15K that consistently performs at or very near it's sticker-stated 39 MPG highway?

You Know I read reveiws on how the center pod takes your eyes off the road too long. Obvious they didn't drive it long enough. I find the center pod completely takes out the night reflection of the gage lights ( which are so enyoing ) This is a great little car even if I did take it in for service today.
that and with your eyes up, potential traffic hazzards are in your peripheral vision, which if u focus on it u realize that you have greater horizontal acuity in the periphery and less so in the vertical. some may think the cup holder placement is ackward, but again, you're not looking down in the least to be able to grab it.

My xB had LESS wind noise than my hatch! What's with that? Also, the interior of the xB is quieter--less road noise.

The road noise issue I don't understand because Yarii cost more than comparable xA/B's. It's like getting less for more money. The Scion family can't be beat for value by anything. Since I traded for looks I'm still happy. Sitting in a hatch is like being in a space capsule. It's kind of neat compared to the Range Rover view of the xB.

BTW, the new BB looks like a Japanese PT Cruiser. Ugh. Glad we're not getting it.

In N.A it's usually the enthusiast that are driving the Manual and I'd be surprised if yours is thus equipped. Personally, I wouldn't mind if the tach was even bigger, but the current size is just fine. Also the location is great, next my Nav system, it's the next most used instrument on my dash.

Some of my gripes are:
-Better UV protection for the front windshield
-how do I get the air vents to switch to defrost mode without activating the AC?
-Lower glove box cuts into the passenger leg room
-Bench seat should be able to slide forward in order to make for better storage space in the back.

Yeah, I could use a more comfortable seat. I do find I get uncomfortable on longer than 1-2 hours drives unfortunately.

hell, i get uncomfortable sitting in any seat for more than 1-2 hours that's not a lazyboy! lol ;) that's just the nature of the beast that is a road trip, gotta stop and stretch every few hours. i have a 2003 Saturn L200 which is a pretty smooth and comfy ride IMO, and like you said, anything over 2 hours i need to make sure i get breaks for the butt, back, and legs. :)

To defrost the inside of your windshield properly and quickly, A/C needs to be on because it removes moisture from the air. A lot of people never realized this in older cars, so now they just make it happen automatically. If you just want to melt snow on the outside of your windshield, then that is an unfortunate and unavoidabe problem.
