I suggest caculating your overall stock diameter (wheel + tire), and then calculating the new overall diameter with your new wheel and tire setup.
For me, the stock setup was 185-65-R15, and the new setup was 205-40-R17. I think there is a minor difference in diameter, and hence there is slightly more gap between the tire and my wheel well.
