I don't think you'll have any problems with putting in the C56 gears into the C150 case.

I'm yet to take some more measurements, but I think the C56 centre casing is longer than the C150. The end casing are completely swappable with the cast end case from the C56 actually being smaller than the pressing steel end case on the C150.
Pulled my lsd apart only to find out that something like a piece of metal has gone through it and put gouges in 2 plates and scored the cross pin . Dunno whether to try and replace them (which probably means buying another bloody lsd) or just polish them up and see how it goes.

C56 gears won't fit in the C150 case.
C150 gear seat on left, C56 gear set on right.
