If you had any corrosion in the wheel cyls you probably ran the cups/seals over it when you changed the shoes. Just something that will happen once in a while if wheel cyls aren't replaced at the same time the shoes are. You may notice brake fluid leaking on your wheel/tire, and your brakes may tend to lock on you when you apply them.
