Toyota should just put a brightly-colored indication tag on the tow hook cover as it comes off the assembly line. It could look just like the one you saw hanging off the glove box in the dealer lot when you bought yours

Sorry OP if some responses seem mean spirited. No big deal if you didn't know. I guess this question doesn't come up in the search. It's just that there's at least 30 threads that have been started asking this.
