I get nervous about mods in the powertrain that aren't TRD; it just seems like it would be too easy for warranty work to be denied.

That is very true. If you have warranty work done on the engine or trans and they discover an aftermarket flywheel there is a good chance they will deny coverage.

This is probably not a mod for the bolt on mod crowd.
