Are you talking about the really shiny sun shades that would reflect back against the
windshield? Years ago, I had some cheap cardboard folding thing that wouldn't stay up
no matter what I did. I see the newer ones can be reflective and softer, but don't look
like they would stay up there.

Most sun shdes are held in place by folding the car's sun visors down.

I guess it has been a while since I have tried one, but I have seen many
that slide out from under the visor.
