cause the bumper looks better without a goofy plate on it.... I took mine off a few weeks after I got it. Just ignored the holes the dealer drilled. I was fine in Texas for 3 years before I got pulled over twice in one week on the same interstate by two different cops for nothing but having no license plate... One of them even laughed at me when I asked when that law went into effect because I knew nothing of it :(

I did find some nifty screw cap cover things on amazon. So no screw heads! YAY!

Kimona - could get a stock Miata bracket (mounts on the top inside of your lower grill, so the holes you drill will be up inside the front bumper.)

Law states that plate must be of the most forward and reward of vehicle. I used to get dinged all the time in my older s-10 with a lexan drop box in my cab window.
