I have a 2007 Yaris coupe and I am now experiencing a really slooooowww crank, then it starts. I tried to see if the lights dimmed in neutral, partially turned the key, but nothing different happened. Half turn still starts the car and completes the ignition, it's just that it is chugging slowly to start? I can think of only three things: battery, alternator, or starter motor as the problems. I have 67k would the alt and the starter still be covered under warranty? I mean, 3 yrs and the alt or starter goes?

help in NJ

I would take the car to a certified shop to have them deep test your battery and also your starter components. They will be able to tell you for sure...you could lean toward battery replacement, but best to be sure.

probably the battery, but you can go to a shop and get that checked for free.
