Using cruise control, no head wind, speed kept to 55mph, no stops/starts...my Yaris consistently gets 43-45mpg. Going at constant 70mph...37-39 mpg. Typical headwind drops mileage by about 5-6mpg. Strong head wind at highway speed of 70mph...30-35mpg. Strong tail wind at 55mph...60-66 mpg.

51 mpg with a 2008 D4D. and that was quite a lot of city driving. When driving 60mph the meter says 3.8l/100km so thats 62mpg! Gotta love a MT diesel.

2010 Yaris 4 dr Sedan purchased in Apr 2011. ~13,000 km to date (about 8,100 miles).

Best: 44.4 MPG (US)
Worst: 28.7 MPG (US)
Average: 38 MPG (US)

I always stop fuelling at the first click on the pump. Winter has been a killer on my mileage here in Canada (see worst tank).

Also, not to go too far off topic, but I have to give a shout out to CTScott for helping me set up the cruise control on my Yaris. Wouldn't be breaking 40mpg without it.

Yay first post! I just barely got my 08 3Dr Manual. So far I got (from oldest to newest tank): 43.6, 46.3, 49.3, & 48.6 mpg.

I came from a 98 saturn SL1 where I got between 44 & 47 mpg regularly.

my mileage seems to have improved by 3-4 mpg since i put the lightweight pulleys on, i think the change in the engines response time has affected my driving habits in a good way, lol.

noticed it when i went to tillamook, my mileage went from 35 to 39. and i drove really aggressive, too.....going to fill up today and see what I'm at.

Thank you. My last tank gave me 50.3mpg as the weather warmed. I'm in hypermiler heaven. My next fill up is going to stink because I taught my niece how to drive a manual and she loved to rev the engine when shifting. I think I need to clarify the 1st gear take off vs every other gear.

I have two goals. One is to break 53mpg which was my best tank ever on my old Saturn. The other, my stretch goal, is to have a 55mpg tank. I like to dream big.

Are you talking UK or US gallons ??? :) My best was 53.3 UK mpg. I also got 52.3 on the previous fill up with some city driving, all my family (2 adults, 2 kids) and trunk FULL. This was during vacation traveling.

50.3 US MPG. I guess that comes to about 60.4 UK MPG or 4.68 L/100km (if I did the conversions right). I got that driving myself to/from work on mostly flat highway with no additional weight than my laptop bag. Yours is good with a full load of family and gear. I love this little car!

As of today 42.2 per fuelly.com. I'm stoked.
I know its because of fuel blend changes, but I have been working hard to get the best mileage possible . Yet today is WOW!

I am just new to the Yaris forums just getting my 2007 Yaris recently. I am looking forward to finding out what my gas mileage really is (I am on my first tank of gas still). I am thinking about getting a ScanGuageII very soon .. as I think it will make things more fun and allowing me to see how my gas mileage varies with my driving habits.

I want to get one for the same reason; it'll almost be like a game driving to and from work. My commute is on hilly country roads where I'm the only car around, and so far the best I've managed was 46.4mpg.
