There's already holes in the bottom of the bumper where the under engine guards are held on by screws. I just took those screws out, and lined up the lip guard with those holes. No extra drilling required.

This is what the body shop replaced it with from the Yaris Sedan (thinking that my crappy first effort was a factory deal):

The HD lip hung a little lower but was much more flexible and didn't hold shape very well. You can tell the difference between the two, even though the factory lip is not very detailed in the bottom picture. I don't have any great shots up close of it on this computer. The factory lip is more recessed under the bumper and doesn't hang as low, but it's much stiffer, so if you scrape it, you know it. But it does it's job very well, as the bottom of this second bumper has no knicks on it yet, whereas the bottom of my first bumper was all torched from curbs and knicks.

Hope this helps.

That's great info, how much did the stock lip go for? HD has a sale I would like to compare prices plus I would modify the HD one any way but since you had the HD besides being softer are they any complaints on either of the two?

The stock lip I have on my invoice from front bumper repair was $57.55 USD. Not exactly cheap stuff. That was all on the body shop though, and I don't have a parts number or exact price handy. You would have to talk to your local dealer, or maybe Garm or CTScott for that information. The HD lip I fabbed was about $8 USD and about 30-45 minutes of my time. From what I see in your avatar though, I would use either some very stiff rubber from HD or spring for the factory lip. Being as low as you are and having the front bumper/lip kit that you do, I would want to protect that as much as possible, so the stiffer you can make the lip you fabricate, the better.

If I could do it again, I wouldn't have bothered with the HD lip the first time around. It looked cooler because it stuck out more, but it didn't really guard worth a damn from actual scrapes, and I was constantly pushing it back into place because if it DID scrape anything, it wouldn't go flex back into place. Like I said though, if you use better quality stuff from HD, you should be able to mimick something close to the factory lip guard.

Hope this helps.
