There's already holes in the bottom of the bumper where the under engine guards are held on by screws. I just took those screws out, and lined up the lip guard with those holes. No extra drilling required.

It looked cooler because it stuck out more, but it didn't really guard worth a damn from actual scrapes, and I was constantly pushing it back into place because if it DID scrape anything, it wouldn't go flex back into place. Like I said though, if you use better quality stuff from HD, you should be able to mimick something close to the factory lip guard. Hope this helps. -SAV
