The only benefit synthetic oil has is to improve cold weather starting. We're talking 0 degrees F here. It will not make your engine last any longer or run any better. Its more expensive too although not as much as it used to be. And yes, with the ammount of miles on your car, its very possible you will get oil leaks because its thinner and flows more easily. Not that they would be serious but some people make a living here scaring people about oil leaks. I used to rebuild engines for a living so I know what Im talking about. Change your oil regularly with conventional oil and the engine will outlast the rest of the car easily.
