I have been doing a bit of research and probably gonna hold off on the HID's for now. Just ues the original bulbs.

If I wanted to put in some 6k bulbs, do I need to get a new ballast aswell? or can I just use the ballast from the 10k and just replace the bulbs to 6k?

Thanks for the info! (and possibly saving me from getting a ticket!!!)

Well HIDs themselves arent' a ticket, if they're done right most cops won't pull you over since they aren't bothering people. TECHNICALLY they would be illegal, but whether or not they choose to ticket you is at their discretion at that point.

And from having purple headlights... And no one wants that. Even 6k is a bit too blue for some people. Best light output will be 4300-5000k. Anything over is wasted on the human eye.

4300K is the closest to natural white sunlight. Anything higher is bluer, and 10K is downright purple and will result in less actual illumination and more attention from a cop with an itchy ticket pad. Good on you to not use them, because they are quite annoying, especially in housings not designed for HID purposes.
