Ummm us aussies we say it like we have no accent. I cant explain how we say it but we dont drag the a sound. Think of combining "Yeah" and "Ya" together and not draggin the a sound. I duno i cant explain it.

"YAR-iss" is much closer to the root words of "Ja" and "Charis" than "YAIR-iss" is.

Dictionary.com lists Charis as being pronounced "KEY-riss," but the plural is "KAR-i-teez," the first syllable of which rhymes with the first syllable of the American pronunciation of Yaris.

And Ja...is "Yah" obviousiously. "YAH-riss" isn't quite how we say it, but we're closer than anyone saying "YAIR-iss."

Its when i heard the cop dude say "who's toyta yaris is this?" and i was like "hehehe they say it differently from we do"
