use a slow drill, a flitz or mother's polishing ball...or a COTTON microfiber cloth with a good polishing compound.

do not go fast with the polish compound or you're gonna take off too much material. follow the directions on teh polish compound. i can suggest 3m chrome or aluminum polish. take your time, go slow, and make even passes...dont just do one thumb print sized spot.
