6x9s mounted to cargo cover?

Anyone ever mount some 6 X 9s or something underneath the plastic cargo cover on the hatchback? I thought about mounting a pair to the underside of that as if it was a stationary deck and adding 2 more speakers for my kids who complain they cant hear stereo. Any comments/suggestions? Would they flimsy plastic cover hold a pair of 6X9s drilled into?

Yeah, I think that hatch cover would rattle too much for speakers. It's pretty loose on there, and not the solid mounting you'd want!

yaris2010RS has done it.

The cover is plenty rigid, and he's not had any complaints about rattling or any other issues.

Really? I was just thinking of running 6 speakers total thats all. the 6x9s are kind of small, not sure the rattle would be all that much but will think twice. Thanks all. Not sure.

no rattles from the speakers. had to put foam on the ledge that the cargo cover sits on (on the two sides) but that was making noise before the speakers went on there
