Good point. Just because it's more expensive doesn't necessarily mean it's a better tyre.

True on the money thing, but I'd add that if you live in a place where there's a good chance you'll get snow in the winter, get winters. That's a much better way to spend your money than on jacked insurance premiums when your rock hard Ultra HP "all seasons" slide you into an oncoming lane or a ditch. There's just no "perfect" tire out there for all weather conditions - no matter what the manufacturers claim.
Besides, having a set of winters lets you get sweet summer performance shoes without the crappy ice/snow sipes
