Guys: Tell me about the oil cooler radiator for automatic transmissions.
If it exists, and how it can be cleaned from the inside? |

On AT Yaris the bottom part of the radiator is an oil cooler. There are two hoses that go from the transmission to it. The clean it you flush it with fresh transmission fluid.

The ATF fluid is expensive, but I would not want to risk residue from other fluids. To save money I would only use a cheaper, but similar ATF fluid for flushing it.

According to Toyota ATF WS is unique, but for flushing you could use a Dexron III or Dexron IV ATF, and if a few drops of residue remained it wouldn't be a problem.
