I think you're on the right track. And big props to you for taking the heat, coming back with a plan, and not getting all hissy about it.

1. NO need for a pump at 7psi.
2. Might not need injectors, but they are good to have on hand. $100 used for a set of 'rolla ones.
3. And yeah, no downpipe in that kit. You'll have to make one.
4. exhaust manifold gasket, don't re-use
5. blowoff valve could be crap -- tread carefully.
6. turbo... well, you take your chances there - might last a good long while, might fail soon. Be prepared.
7. " solve heat problems with wrap, blankets, heat Sheild and paint treatment. Also thought maybe a new hood with air flow would help" - YES

I hope Micro Image gets to sell you something along the way, but regardless, do it right and enjoy your project!

Talked to a couple tuner buddys that have integs and a 240 and their questioning my need for a fic? when apparently according to them i can get a stand alone ecu and get 2 maps one for raceing and one economy at the tuner garage and get a full tune and completely forget the aem fic? Ur thoughts? Oh and garm did a lil peeking on the website might order some things after all.

Ability to switch maps is awesome, that's how I do it. 14 psi and 24 psi = "economy and racing". LOL

meanwhile.... which standalone are they recommending exactly?

Standalone - minimum 2k for the unit, 1k+ for the harness and labor, 1k+ for tuning.

Piggyback - $320 + $400ish for tuning.

Obviously a standalone would be better, but they're in two completely different price leagues. For low boost and a stock engine you only need a piggyback.

Also - I hope you're really good buds with those guys at the shop. You're probably going to be spending a decent amount of cash on fabrication. Getting the piping right and making a downpipe are costs you have to consider.

Oh and one last thing: do yourself a favor and don't go larger than a stage 2 clutch. Even with a turbo, that clutch will still be overkill on a Yaris. Having a heavy clutch can really suck big if you drive in any traffic whatsoever.

The Clutchmaster stage three kevlar is a breeze, the pedal is soft and engages pretty high up. Some days I around 6 hours in bumper to bumper Los Angeles traffic...no problem with fatigue.

This is correct, you only need one management unit controlling the motor.

I think you need to ask more questions at the shop, I can't help much more without that.

1. Which management do they like to tune with? (*critical!)
2. How will the wiring be done?
3. What is the management going to control, exactly (just fuel, fuel/timing, or more)?

At 7psi you don't need a lot of features a standalone will offer, so I am suspicious of someone recommending it just for the two maps. Just saying, until I know better.

OH SWEET BABY JESUS i want that thing... till i saw the price and my heart sank! My buddys didnt know what they were talking about and said i could get a cheap standalone for 400 and then just splice it all to hell until it worked... yeah not going that route. ill skip the standalone until i decided i want to rebuild her. SO ebay fic..((sorry buddy theirs was only 340 but...)+ M.I. BOOMSLANG = happy yaris. So on pimps custom build i saw he mentioned haveing a greddy emanage as well as an fic tho it was never really talked about. AM i going to need a e manage as well? and how dose that effect the boomslang? LOL step one turbo completed, step 2 electronics (in progress)...

People must not read my sig file. "We Price Match!" -- even against eBay and even when the sellers cheat and sell under MAP.
I can't ALWAYS do it, but I like the chance to try. /rant

back to the question...

engine > ECU > PnP harness > aftermarket management (FI/C or eManage or CamCon)
You can only have ONE of the last thing. Understand?

Either way, it's ending with an FIC that came from us!
