It is of my belief that the reason for the narrower tire is so the setup fits better under the fenders. And steel wheels do weigh a lot. The widened steelie thing looks awesome, IMHO, but it isn't weight-saving setup or, arguably, a performance setup (ditto that with the hellaflush thing). *puts flame suit on*

no need for a flamesuit, no one who does the hellaflush thing would ever say it does anything but hurt performance and makes suspension components break faster.
