I advise giving the stock speakers around the level 2 or 3 on the bass setting. Then turn the amp up\down to dial in the sub. If you turn the bass all the way down and the sub all the way up your going to have a bad gap in frequency response. A decent sub usually wont produce any frequencies above like 300 hrtz. I have my low pass x-over set at around 100-120ish hrtz. You end up getting a very.....I would say flat.....sounding system.
