That's a good attitude. Sometimes I drive slowly to find the adress while delivering, and if other cars are behing me, I'll pull on the side with my warning lights so that people can pass me. When I see random people or taxi drivers almost stopped or driving 20kph in the middle of the street for whatever reason, I'm pissed.

I have noticed that other vehicles seem not to see my 2012 black 3 door Yaris. I have had to hit the horn (this must be replaced soon), twice in the last month. It seems like other drivers just don't see the car when changing lanes or think I will submit and hit the brakes.
I used to drive a VW Golf and didn't have these types of issues. What gives?

I used to subscribe to "Pull off to the side of the road and let them pass" until some moron threw a coke bottle at my car when I did. It could have just as easily been a bullet. It is much safer if you keep rolling.

so not to dig up a thread from death, but I had a good one today. I had a red ford focus hatchback race to get infront of me, Nobody i mean NOBODY! was behind me after getting Right infront of me he slams on the brakes to make the next turn off. What gives? I mean Yea i get it. Its a yaris, I bought it for fuel economy and i drive like a little old lady going to get groceries.
But wtf? Speed limit on this road is 50mph, I was probably doing 45-47 and accelerating from the previous light. Does this really justify cutting off then brake checking a poor little yaris? Derp ![]() Thanks Sean Scott |

I get no respect driving my yaris, or from people at work who knows I drive on. But when a car pulls up besides me (like a cobalt, civic, etc...) and I beat them, i just LOL.

In my country (Philippines) people here are used to 4 door sedans and the only known hatchback is the Honda Fit. It is seldom that you see a Yaris around here too. More of the Fit, Suzuki Swift and Mazda 2 thats roaming around the streets here.
People are like what car is that and stuff. At least i got to smoke my friend and his Honda Fit. hahahahaha.

No love and no hate. There are still not enough Yari in my area to make a dent. I am still unique.

When I lived in central Oregon there were lots of big pickups and SUV's but people rarely hassled me in my Yaris LB. Since moving to a majority Democrat community in Sonoma county the Right wing minority rednecks are really nasty about tailgating small cars and Priuses. They hate energy efficient vehicles with a passion and I get tailgated by gas guzzlers nearly every day. Mostly big American made SUV's and pickups but there is this one young guy who has a nicely kept Blazing Blue Yaris LB like mine who gets so close I have to pull off onto the shoulder every time. Could be he's got a super charger or a meth problem. There's lots of that here from what I've read in the paper. I'd have thought being this close to San Francisco people would be a bit more tolerant.

. Good for you if you can be there and enjoy yourself. I'm a 5th Generation Bay Area native. When I moved here (to Montgomery County, TX), I planned to move back to the Bay Area after 5 years. Very soon after I moved here (I live in what some rank as the 3rd most conservative county in the U.S.), I realized I would never move back to California. I care more about what government entities are using my tax money for, policies, laws, the attitude of the citizenry, value for my dollar (re most things), and the attitude of government officials, more than I do about the weather. The people I don't understand are people who come here from California.....and then move back!Washington has a tug on me, as well as Tennessee, Nevada, Florida, and Texas (I've spent time in every state except Alaska and Hawaii). I don't think I could live in any state other than those five. A guy in a Ford F-250 pulled the same kind of c**p on me near Lodi, CA....passed me (almost hitting me) and then flipped me off as he was passing me. Doesn't usually happen that way here. The attitude is different re firearms . My cousin lives in Petaluma, CA. I'd love to see Mr. 'Blazing Blue' try to pull that kind of c**p on him. He's a retired Deputy Chief of Police (a major U.S, city) who came up through the narcotics division, an ex college level rugby player, and the son of a U.S. Marine who then spent 30 years as a fireman.

You have a cell phone with a camera now. Take pictures, make it obvious you are taking pictures. They will stop, since nowadays that crap is actually criminal.

People just under estimate Yaris just because they are made from Toyota. Plus the control on Yaris is really nice compare to other cars.
Also, Yaris can be turbo charged ;) (Turbo Charge Kit made by Blitz) |

From my experience with Blitz, having had one on my car, Blitz only makes a supercharger kit for the Yaris.
