You can use your Headunit to run your new component set. One of two things is going to happen though.

1.) You love the way your new set of components sound with just the Headunit power and everybody is happy.

2.) You install your new components and think " i just spent 100 bucks on these speakers and I'm not impressed " at this point you reach over to your headunit and go up on the volume.

There's the mistake, your deck can only output an unclipped signal up to a certain volume, when you exceed that limit you then send a clipped signal to your brand new components, to your amp and to your subwoofer. For an extended period of time somethings going to break, just like what happend to your factory 6x9.

You really need to take some time and plan out the whole install. You've been jumping around from Big 3 upgrades to alternators to headunits to speakers.

On your next post write it out man.

The first thing i would suggest is your Wiring.

The next thing will be your headunit.

Decide on putting in a 4 channel.

Are you going to deaden your front doors.

And so on, If not you'll be going in circles. For example if you decide to install your components and deaden your doors and install an amp to your components you're either going to do it all at once or take apart everything 3 different times. I know it isn't hard to take stuff apart but still plan.

Few components :
