I willingly chose to risk my own time and money just to find out for myself what would happen. This is only a wild guess from reading the Holdener thread because I was really curious how that would all play out... but Richard's manifold might have yielded similar dyno results to mine which also produced an unsaleable product. That could have been why he pulled the plug on it even though he had $695 purchase orders for it. |

From reading I've done on this forum, a couple of threads have expressed you need a Corolla TB ending in 030 otherwise you need to do a chip swap. (mine is from a 2005) I bought one and it has a noticeably larger air path than the stock TB.
The only other difference I notice on the TB is that the coolant lines are at different angles than the Yaris TB, but that is an easy fix. I wish we could nail down this information. I have no plans to install the TB on the stock manifold, I'm waiting until I get a new intake manifold. I'm excited to see what MicroImage is going to come up with, but my current plan is to buy a xB weapon-r and have a local fabricator design a new plenum and a 1zz TB flange. The weapon-r manifold is just a starting point really. |

It's nice to know that I might have inspired others to explore on their own.
The Weapon R Xb manifold you want is presently selling for $469 including shipping on ebay... but I haven't yet been able to find any actual dyno run results even though Weapon R claims their intake manifold makes 15 to 30 horsepower in a normally aspirated engine.

4/20 is right, it's part number 22030-0D030 that I got. Personally, I completely bypassed the coolant lines.
Hit up eBay or a junk yard now and then. You'll probably be better off at the junk yard as on eBay they're all around $150. Can't wait for the MI manifold! It's going to be ported for the 1ZZ TB, correct?

![]() Do you know what the base gasket looks like? The reason I'm asking is to determine how to configure the adaptor, as I'm not sure if the larger bore will work with the stock 1NZ FE Oring gasket. |

The mating surface of the TB is flat, just like the 1NZ. I've got one in the shed if you want pics for sketching/brainstorming.

![]() I want to know what they look like just to be sure that I'm ordering the right one. The bore diameters are so close between the 1NZ FE and 1ZZ FE I may have the rest of the adaptors all machined 1ZZ sized so that the manifold will work for both throttle bodies. |

I'm not sure what constitutes "close" here, but a solid step will cause some significant turbulence. I would honestly suggest making two different adapters, assuming you're not opposed to having additional inventory eating up shelf space. |

the dyno looks like it would support an 8500-9000rpm screamer very well

If the weapon-r manifold made the claimed amount of horsepower you know there would be dyno charts to support it. It doesn't, so there are none. I am surprised there are seriously nearly zero charts online. Some google image searches show some charts paired up with other mods, and none of those charts show large gains over what I/h/e are worth.
I'm excited to see this MicroImage manifold. If they are so close to a finished product there is no sense in building my own right now. My ideas from working on NA Hondas in the past was you could improve the plenum design of the weapon-r, as well as add velocity stacks to each intake port inside the manifold. Maybe the problem with the weapon-r is they were trying to find a balance between NA and FI performance? |

The actual performance of an intake manifold can be muddied up with other concurrent mods like intake, throttle body, injectors, fuel, e tuning, or exhaust, so that you never actually know whether or not an increase was in the manifold. This is why I did the two sets of runs with the manifold as the only change, so that I would have an accurate assessment of it alone. Quote:
And that makes sense. From what I've read, forced induction plenums need to be larger than normally aspirated ones so that one plenum size cannot ideally fit both. But a single plenum size compromise between the two could work less than ideally for both. |

Coincidently, one of the CNC guys at Origin Design in Santa Monica worked on the design of this manifold. Quote:
