Blitz Oil Cap o-ring
Haven't got an answer at MI yet, so I thought I'd check with you guys.
Is the o-ring on the Blitz oil cap supposed to come off so easy? It seems like when you remove the cap it will just fall off into the engine bay somewhere. The factory oil cap has the O-ring built into the cap or it's held in somehow. The one on my Blitz cap just sits in a track with seemingly nothing to prevent it from just falling off at any given time.

Come on I've seen these in engine bay pics around here. Someone should be able to tell me if this is the way it's supposed to be and how you are supposed to deal with it.

I have the TRD one and the o-ring is tight around the base.

Should/could I just glue the o-ring into that track that it sits in? It's weird that it's setup that way. Doesn't really make any sense.

Quote:
1) Remove the o-ring off of your original oil cap and install on Blitz cap 2) Remove the o-ring off of your original oil cap and measure size then look up McMaster Carr website catalog under o-rings (BUNA-N type) and order. Its to bad you're not closer to me cause I have EVERY size o-ring there is in my test lab at work (Aerospace) and I would gladly donate a couple to you. Best of luck |

Franklin's Hardware has all kinds of O-rings in their plumbing department. You probably have a hardware store near you as well?

So getting an O ring that fits snugly in there is the best way to do it?

^ I would say so, yes. I think it's supposed to fit better!
