Any comments on Hankook Optimo or Mileage Plus tires?
Does anybody have any experience (or comments about) with either the Hankook Optimo H727 (185/65 R14) or the Hankook Mileage Plus II H725 (175/65 R14)?
I am thinking of putting one of these tires on my Yaris hatchback. I am particularly interested in good ice and snow traction and braking. Any other comments? Thanks, RMcG |

H727's are amazing. 100,000 mile warranty, work great in dry, rain, or snow, and a great price. I've ran them on my Yaris and we got them for a family member on her Bonneville.
Never tried the Mileage Plus II H725's. |

I put a set of H727's on mine this summer. I will see how they work in the snow if we ever get some this year. I went for the warranty because even if they only last 50,000 that is a lot more than I got out of the stock tires (28,000)

Thanks Blitz and 33OH for your replies.
There seems to be a lot more experience with the 727 Optimo, but not so much with the H725 (Mileage Plus II). If you look at the survey and reviews of the H725 (Mileage Plus II) on tirerack, they are poor, see http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....el=Optimo+H725. And the survey is mediocre. On the other hand, the 727 Optimo does very well in both reviews and survey, see http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....el=Optimo+H727 and the 727 Optimo was rated by Consumer Reports. Both the 727 and the 725 do well in the reviews on discounttiredirect.com, but there are far fewer reviews on the 725, and the reviewers generally had not driven them very long. See http://www.discounttiredirect.com Any comments from anybody will be welcome. Thanks, RMcG |

Just got a set of the 727 Optimo. Had 50k on the original Bridgstone and might have been able to put another 10k on them. However, didn't want to drive through the winter on them. I'll run another check but it seems that I lost 1-2 mpg with the new tires.
